Time to re-write those affirmations?
I read an interesting bit of research the other day that said it is more effective to switch from 'I' when creating affirmations to 'you'.
So, when using self-speak, 'You are calm & you are confident' will have more power and effectiveness than repeating 'I am calm & I am confident'.
Interesting huh?
So which affirmations work for you?
You are powerful.
You are strong.
You can do this...YES, you CAN do this.
You are the eye of the storm.
You were built to birth a baby.
By switching to 'you' you are effectively taking on the role of chief cheer-leader for yourself. Buoying yourself up. Driving yourself forward. Absolutely showing belief in yourself.
Perhaps start practising this day to day before your labour and birth?
You are amazing.
You are beautiful.
You've got this. You've really got this.
You've almost reached the weekend sweetie.
